Chemistry Data Days 2025
RDM in Chemistry and physical Sciences
June 3 , 12:00 – June 4 , 14:00 CEST

Chemistry data and data-driven research have come a long way since the first ‘Chemistry Data Days 2023’. More and more sophisticated tools exist to digitally process data from planning to creation, analysis and publication. At the same time, there is growing pressure on universities to impart knowledge of these tools.
We will address this development in particular at the second ‘Chemistry Data Days 2025’, which will take place again this year at the University of Mainz.
This time we have decided to focus on two main topics:
- Tools for the entire digital life cycle
- Research data management in teaching
There will be lectures, discussions, workshops and a poster session (incl. Posteraward). And of course time for networking and learning from each other.
Agenda Day 1 (tentative):
11:00 | Registration & light lunch |
12:00 | Welcome & What NFDI & NFDI4Chem can do for you |
12:30 | Chemotion ELN* in teaching. Talks & Discussion Georg Manolikakes Sonja Herres-Pawlis Johann Seibert |
13:30 | Coffee Break |

17:00 | Science Education meets Research Data Management Johann Seibert |
17:30 | On the necessity of RDM Till Biskup |
18:00 | Poster Session, Buffet and Drinks Reception Present and discuss your own research with other scientists and exhibitors. Ideally, include how you deal with data and or bring questions / problems along as to where you would like to improve your data handling. |

Posters
There will be a Poster Session at CDD 2025.
AND: there will be a poster award ( book voucher 150 GBP)!
Important Dates
- Abstract submissions due: May 25, 2025
- Conference days: June 3-4, 2025
- Poster Session: June 3, 2025 (18 h CEST)
You can indicate whether you would like to present a poster with your conference registration. You can submit your abstract at a later date via email to nfdi4chem@uni-mainz.de but no later than the abstract deadline.
Abstracts
You are cordially invited to contribute to the scientific programme with poster.
Please prepare an abstract with 1 page (incl. figures, max. size 1 MB, max. 2 pages). The abstract should explicitly mention objectives, new results and conclusions or significance of the work.
Please use the Template to correctly format your contribution and send it as PDF file to nfdi4chem@uni-mainz.de.
Enter the author list (author and co-author/s) and affiliations in the same order as in your abstract.
Please, double-check your information, NFDI4Chem will not make any adjustments regarding the author information, it will be published as given.
Accomodation
Note: A large congress is being held in Mainz at the same time as the CDD, which reduces the number of beds available. We recommend that out-of-towners book early.
