The Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is looking for a Computer Scientist (f/m/d).
We are looking for a research software engineer to support research and development work within the NFDI4Chem framework. This includes development for subject-specific repositories and Smartlab applications (e.g. electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN)) as well as the extension of existing repositories with new functions. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and integration of various repositories and tools in chemistry. You will publish and present the results in scientific journals or at conferences.
You have a university degree (Master) in computer science, engineering or a similar field. In addition, you have several years of experience in the area of chemical informatics, in the operation and administration of IT services, and thorough knowledge of Linux. Furthermore, you have strong skills and experience in at least one modern programming language and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP) and with software development tools. Ideally, you have knowledge of chemical workflows and research data management. Finally, you are able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in German and English.
