The Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is looking for a Computer Scientist (f/m/d).
Job Description
We are looking for a research software engineer to support research and development within the NFDI4Chem framework. This includes software development and further development of subject-specific infrastructures such as repositories (e.g. Chemotion, Suprabank). Furthermore, working with research staff, you will be responsible for the design and standardization of interfaces (backend) and user interfaces (fronted) such as input masks for metadata. You will publish and present the results in scientific journals or at conferences.
Personal Qualifications
You have a university degree (Master) in computer science (or cheminformatics), engineering or a similar field. You also have several years of experience in software development and ideally in research data management. Furthermore, you have experience in operation and administration of IT services as well as thorough knowledge of Linux. Furthermore, you have strong skills and experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP). Experience in research data management as well as knowledge of chemical work processes and data analysis would be desirable. Finally, you are able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in German and English.
Remuneration
EG 13, subject to professional and personal qualifications.
