The Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is looking for a Computer Scientist (f/m/d).
We are looking for a research software engineer to support research and development work within the NFDI4Chem framework. This includes software development and web development to connect to technical infrastructures of the SCC for electronic lab books and repositories. The work here concerns the storage services bwDataArchive and LSDF as well as the adaptation and design of suitable interfaces. You will publish and present the results in scientific journals or at conferences.
You have a university degree (Master) in computer science, engineering or a similar field. In addition, you bring several years of experience in software development and ideally research data management, data analysis and storage systems. You also have experience in operation and administration of IT services as well as thorough knowledge of Linux. Furthermore, you have strong skills and experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP). Experience in research data management as well as knowledge of chemical work processes and data analysis would be desirable. Finally, you are able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in German and English.
