NFDI4Chem Chemistry Data Survey
Data plays an increasingly important role in chemistry. The National Research Data Infrastructure (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur, NFDI) is an initiative by the German federal and state governments. Its aim is creating an interdisciplinary network for enabling the sustainable treatment of research data according to the FAIR guiding principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). The chemistry consortium NFDI4Chem aims to seamlessly digitalise the entire workflow in chemical research. Starting at the bench with the provision of Open-Source electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), through developing standards, interfaces, and tools, NFDI4Chem strives to remove the analogue gaps from the digital data lifecycle. Publishers and funding bodies are also already beginning to make requirements for FAIR research.
An important part of our work is to continuously assess the community`s requirements for handling their chemical data. To this end, we kindly ask you to participate in the following questionnaire which shouldn’t take any longer than 15 minutes of your time. The results will help us respond to the community’s requirements and adapt our work plan accordingly to provide you with tools and resources you require.
We thank you in advance for your time. We will donate one euro to SOS-Kinderdörfer e.V. for each participant who completes the entire survey. Should you have any questions regarding the questionnaire or data management in chemistry, please contact helpdesk@nfdi4chem.de.
Best regards,
Team NFDI4Chem
