Speakers for NFDI-Sections

German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) e.V., the umbrella organization of the various consortia, is organized in four cross-consortia committees/sections:

  • Common Infrastructures
  • Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects
  • (Meta)data, Terminologies, Provenance
  • Training & Education.

We are proud to announce the recent election results in the NFDI sections, highlighting key roles for two of our distinguished members from the NFDI4Chem consortium. The sections are bodies of the NFDI e.V. in which members of all NFDI consortia work together on various cross-cutting topics of common interest. This spring, the sections elected their spokespersons for another 2-year term. We congratulate all newly elected spokespersons, particularly the members of our own consortium:

At the end of April, Oliver Koepler was elected spokesperson for the section (meta)data, terminologies, provenance of the NFDI e.V.. He chairs the section together with Leyla Jael Castro, ZB Med. He is already starting his second term as spokesman. The section and its working groups address the development of standards for metadata and terminologies across all consortia. NFDI4Chem is particularly involved in the working groups on ontology harmonization, terminology services and metadata. If you are interested in participating, please contact Johannes Hunold johannes.hunold@tib.eu.

In May 2024, Sonja Herres-Pawlis (RWTH Aachen University) has been elected as speaker of the Section Education & Training, she will lead the section together with Peter Pelz (TU Darmstadt) who was the speaker before. In case of interest in collaboration with the section or if you intend to work in the section, please contact Dr. Jochen Ortmeyer (RWTH Aachen University) jochen.ortmeyer@ac.rwth-aachen.de.

We are pleased and proud that two of the sections will be chaired by co-speakers from NFDI4Chem. This shows the trust in our members and our networking with the other consortia.
