Contribute

NFDI4Chem is an initiative driven by scientists for the scientific chemistry community in Germany and beyond. We thrive to be open in everything we do and to give all stakeholders the opportunity to contribute to building a German research data infrastructure in chemistry. To get involved, there are several possibilities:

Provide feedback

You can simply write to helpdesk@nfdi4chem.de with your suggestions and ideas. You can also help us by completing the surveys we regularly launch. They are communicated through multiple channels, including our Newsletter (sign up here).

Take part in our public activities

and join the discussions to share your views and thoughts. For example, you can attend our monthly Chemotion/NFDI4Chem Stammtisch, the Chemotion ELN Q&A session (every two weeks) or attend some of the other activities we organise and advertise on our website and in our Newsletter.

Publish and share your data

We can assist with the process if you send us data from previous, current and even upcoming publications. We will evaluate their FAIRness and check how well they match the requirements of submission tools and repositories available today. Through the process we will gain insights into pit-falls and community requirements. This will help us create impulses for future activities in NFDI4Chem. And in return, you will get feedback on the FAIRness of your dataset and learn to lead-by-example in future publications.

Join the consortium

To actively contribute to the tasks and measures in NFDI4Chem, you can apply to become a new participant. To do so, please take a look at the project proposal to identify the areas where you could best contribute. Next, contact the respective TA-lead(s) to discuss your possible involvement and to help you draft a letter of commitment. Based on the LoC, brought forward by one of the TA-leads, the NFDI4Chem Steering Committee will discuss and decide about proceeding with your application. Eventually, the decision lies with the DFG to accept your institution as a new partner in the consortium. Finally, your institution will be asked to sign our consortium agreement.
